On the 26th and 27th of June 2018, the INSTART consortium celebrated the Project Intermediate meeting hosted by the University of Ibn Zohr in Agadir, Morocco.
The INSTART Project – “Euro-African Network of Excellence for Entrepreneurship and Innovation”, is co-financed by the Erasmus+ Program of the European Union, and led by the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. The total budget of the project is 704.491,66€.
INSTART aims at improving the knowledge triangle by promoting an effective Innovation culture in Higher Education, and starting up Innovative modes of association and interaction between Universities, Businesses and Society in order to enhance the socio-economic environment across the South Mediterranean Region (MED).
Representatives of the 4 European Universities, coming from Spain, Portugal, Italy and Poland, participated in the intermediate meeting, as well as representatives of the 12 south Mediterranean countries, from Algeria, Egypt, Libya, Morocco and Tunisia. Furthermore, other intermediaries and social and economic actors, such as the Chambers of commerce, Clusters and Associations participated in the meeting.
The main objective of the intermediate meeting was to follow-up on the previously developed activities, as well as to define and prepare the work-plan for the upcoming year.
As for the planned activities, a training of trainers will be carried out in which the participants of the MED region will be able to benefit from an online transversal training program where they will later move to Rome to continue with the face-to-face workshops for one week. Likewise, an online training plan will be prepared for the staff that will be in the Knowledge Transfer Offices of the MED Universities and, later on, these staff members will be able to participate in and internship period in the European Universities.
